OFFICIALS REQUIREMENTS
WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION FEE?
The DCSAA official’s registration fee is $40 for the first sport and $25 for each additional sport. As part of membership, each official will receive a National Federation of State High School Associations rule book in the sport, the State rules interpretation clinic, the National Federation rules examination, and membership in the National Federation Officials Association.

OFFICIALS RULES INTERPRETATION MEETINGS
The DCSAA is holding a series of officials rules interpretation meetings for football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
All meetings will be held at OSSE, 1050 First St. NE Washington, DC. Register now in order to reserve your seat at the next meeting.
DCSAA OFFICIALS MEETINGS BY SPORT
OFFICIALS GENERAL INFORMATION
Officials at interscholastic athletic events are participants in the educational development of student- athletes. As such, they must exercise a high level of self-discipline, independence and responsibility.
Officials for DCSAA-sponsored athletic contests, both regular and post-season, are to be certified and registered with the DCSAA office. The DCSAA coordinator of officials will facilitate this process with all local officials’ boards. Registration and certification requirements are as follows:
a. Be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate.
b. Be a member in good standing with a local DCSAA-recognized officials’ group.
c. Pass a criminal background check
d. Attend a DCSAA-sponsored rules interpretation clinic for the current year.
e. Pass the National Federation examination (80% is the lowest passing score).
f. Pay the DCSAA registration fee (through the local officials association).
